Received a Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1988 after obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Colgate University. While at Fordham, Mr. Kandler was selected as a member of the Fordham Urban Law Journal.
Mr. Kandler joined the firm in 1992 and became a Partner in 2000. He is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer with a varied practice that includes insurance coverage disputes, professional liability, construction litigation, commercial litigation, intellectual property, premises liability, and product liability. Mr. Kandler has successfully represented clients in numerous appeals in both state and federal courts.
Mr. Kandler represents insurance companies and insureds in complex insurance coverage cases involving Commercial General Liability Insurance, Professional Liability Insurance, Errors and Omissions Insurance, Homeowners Insurance, Commercial Umbrella Insurance and Commercial Excess Insurance. He counsels insurance, corporate and individual clients on issues such as denials of coverage, bad faith claims, subrogation rights and conflicts of interest.
Mr. Kandler has extensive experience in the representation of insurance carriers in coverage disputes involving alleged trademark infringement and other intellectual property claims.
Mr. Kandler is admitted to practice before the Courts of the State of New York as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
