Received a Juris Doctor degree in 1990 from St. John's School of Law. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1987.

Following his graduation from law school, Mr. Bernstein served for over eight years as an New York County Assistant District Attorney, Office of the New York City Special Narcotics Prosecutor. Mr. Bernstein conducted numerous trials concerning high level narcotics prosecutions and supervised long term investigations into multinational narcotics organizations. Mr. Bernstein left the district attorney's office as a Senior Supervising Attorney.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Bernstein was associated with another litigation firm where he handled various civil matters with an emphasis in defending hospitals and physicians in medical malpractice actions.
