Stephen A. Hoffman has been associated with Callan, Koster, Brady & Brennan, LLP since 2000, and was elevated to partner in 2006. He received a Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School in 1997, after obtaining a Bachelors of Arts degree in Communications Arts from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. Before entering law school, Mr. Hoffman was a paralegal at the Law Department of the New York City Transit Authority, where he specialized in State Division of Human Rights and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission complaints.

Mr. Hoffman began his professional law career at a well regarded plaintiff's personal injury firm, where he ran the medical malpractice department. Mr. Hoffman's trial victories began quite early, as he won his first jury verdict about a year into his practice. During the same period, he won his first appeal; in the matter of Dalal v. City of New York, which was published in Bill of Particulars, a journal of noteworthy legal developments published by the New York State Trial Lawyers Institute. He has taught Notary Public law at Hofstra University and, in his relatively limited spare time, became an accomplished scuba diver. Mr. Hoffman's aggressive style and vast knowledge of the fundamentals of New York practice caught the firm's eye, and he was successfully recruited.

Since joining the firm, Mr. Hoffman has focused his practice on the defense of medical and legal malpractice matters, as well as commercial litigation, Construction and Labor Law actions. Mr. Hoffman is admitted to practice before the Courts of the State of New York, as well as U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
